French pop cum jazz funk ensemble Les Cappuccino got going in Kobe in 1995 by Tommy (guitar) and Marie (organ, electri piano).  The group later added Chiggy (bass) and Swin-go (drums), finalizing the current lineup.  Les Cappuccino plays a wide variety of music, from covers of jazz funk standards like Booker T's "Green Onions" to straight up French pop classics like Alex Scorier's "Madison Horse", as well as their own material.  Sixties mod culture retains a big following in Japan, providing plenty of events for Les Cappuccino to play.  They are regulars on mod-influenced events, as well as headlining club shows, where they are constantly able to pull in an enthusiastic audience.  They have also toured overseas, including slots at Modstock in the UK and Purple Weekend in Spain.  The band released their first album, French Madison, on the Japanese independent label Mad French in 2001.  This was followed up by Ultra Kitsch, released on the French label Sawasdee.  Since then, the group has been included on various mod and bossa themed compilations from Japan and overseas.
